By studying the evolution of a local newspaper’s photographic archive, one can appreciate how new technologies have permitted improvements in the way archives function and are maintained. These changes are reflected in the flow of information at the daily paper La Verdad. The co-ordination and management of the entire process is under the control of the documentalist, who is responsible for administering and maintaining an efficient and effective photograph collection for the newspaper
